Harriet and James, mountains, family, married! St Pierre, France, August, 2015.

Have you ever seen such a beautiful spot!  Harriet and James were married at her families home in the Haute Provence region of France.  Looking back on these pictures has made me ever so nostalgic for this dreamy day.  A delightful family, rambunctious friends and a wedding feast home prepared over the preceding weeks marked this happy day.  I am very thankful to Harriet and James for introducing me to St Pierre and allowing me a glimpse of the gorgeous love they share.

François et Marie, in love, à Paris.

Sunshine.  Gorgeous summer light had come to Paris and I got to photograph the wedding of François to Marie.  This gorgeous couple, Paris kids born and bred, asked me to cover their wedding which had as it’s theme a celebration of this glorious city.  It was an exciting afternoon full of enthusiastic conversation, impromptu dancing, live music and locations to die for.  Surrounded by friends and family these two began an exciting future and lucky me got to capture it.  A grand Merci to Marie and François, thank you for your trust, your patience with my burgeoning French and making these beautiful pictures with me. x jj

Le soleil brille. Une très belle lumière est venue se répandre dans Paris et je m’en allais photographier le mariage de Marie et François.  Ce couple magnifique, qui sont nés et ont grandi à Paris, m’ont demandé de couvrir leur mariage qui avait pour thème majeur la célébration de cette cité glorieuse. Cela a été un après-midi très excitant, rempli de conversations enthousiastes,  impromptus de danses et de musiques et des lieux qui font rêver tout le monde. Entourés d’amis et de leur famille, ces deux amoureux ont commencé un futur exaltant et j’ai eu la chance de capturer ce moment. Un grand Merci à Marie et François, merci pour votre confiance, votre patience avec mon français bourgeonnant et de réaliser ces très belles photographies avec moi. x jj

Caroline and Jonathan are married, Pays de la Loire 2015

Caroline and Jonathan are two of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with.  When you exchange dozens of emails with a couple in preparation for their wedding day and each one is a pleasure to read you get excited to meet their families and friends and know more about where this couple comes from.  On their wedding day the love that was showered on this couple by their guests just went to show that charm that I had felt in our correspondence, they must show in every part of their lives.  I was so honoured to cover their day.  I was thrilled to be in beautiful Anjou and so delighted to try my first méchoui!

Lily and Rob {married}{paris}

Lily and Rob had their wedding in Paris.  They said I do in a belle-epoque era bar that hadn’t closed it doors for a private event not even once in it’s 114 year history.  Paris had her winter face on but that afternoon glowed with the warmth and happiness that their families felt for this couple.  It was a masterclass in handsome and an honour to preserve.  Thank you to Lily and Rob and their families… J

Raphaelle and Julien, {married}{marié}

Raphaelle and Julien got married in front of their families and friends on a most beautiful day in Paris.  Despite my shoddy french, Patrick and I had a wonderful day getting to know this warm, friendly bunch and covering this truly elegant wedding.  Games were played and there was so much laughter.   Mostly at me though when instead of asking the guests to walk, closely past the bride and groom for a particular photo I asked them to ‘closely touch’ the bride and groom…  They were so obliging in fact that they did, there’s photos to prove it.

Raphaelle et Julien se sont mariés accompagnés de leurs familles et amis durant une très belle journée à Paris. Bien que mon français soit de mauvaise qualité, Patrick et moi avons eu une merveilleuse journée en apprenant à connaître ce chaleureux et amical groupe d’amis et en couvrant ce mariage très élégant. Des jeux ont été joués et il y a eu tellement de rires. Surtout sur mon compte lorsqu’au lieu de demander aux invités de marcher à côté et près des mariés pour une photo particulière, je leur ai demandé de ‘toucher’ de près les mariés … Ils ont été tellement obligeants en fait, qu’ils l’ont fait !  Il y a même des photos pour le prouver.

Merci, Julien et Raphaelle, de nous avoir demandé d’être là pour couvrir votre mariage. On vous souhaite nos meilleurs voeux pour vos nouvelles aventures de vie !

Jimmy and Sookie get hitched, Marseille August 2014

Jimmy and Sookie’s meeting was a fluke on an international scale.  More than one chance encounter in Korea was involved and then a move to the other side of the world with everything crossed.  It’s one killer story and the best request to shoot a wedding I have ever received.  Jimmy and Sookie invited me to come to sun drenched Marseille to photograph their wedding.  Now I knew that the sun of southern France was something special but what I didn’t know was just how amazing its’ people are.  Warm, friendly and charming from when they picked us up at the station till when they dropped us back again 5 days later, getting to know these two and covering their family focused wedding day was a pleasure and an honour.

L’union entre Jimmy et Sookie a été un coup de chance à l’échelle internationale ! En plus d’une belle rencontre fortuite en Corée du Sud, cela a impliqué aussi un voyage de Sookie à l’autre bout du monde… Quelle histoire irrésistible à entendre ! Ce fut aussi pour moi, la plus belle demande pour photographier un mariage que je n’ai jamais reçue.  Jimmy et Sookie m’ont invité à venir à Marseille complètement baigné par le soleil. Maintenant, je savais que le soleil du sud de la France était quelque chose de spécial, mais ce que je ne savais pas comment ses gens étaient tout aussi incroyables : chaleureux, amicales et charmants à partir du moment où ils sont venus nous chercher à la gare jusqu’à ce qu’ils nous y déposent à nouveau 5 jours plus tard… Apprendre à connaître Jimmy et Sookie et couvrir leur jour de mariage avec leur famille a été un plaisir et un honneur.

Gino and Maria become engaged, Paris, July 2014 ..

Gino surprised his Maria with a well worded padlock proposal in Paris.  I was there to capture it and how glad I am for that.  It was a beautiful evening, a beautiful proposal, a gorgeous couple.  Thank you Gino for asking me to be there. Congratulations to you both.

She did of course say yes :).
